KPU harus berbenah untuk Pemilu tahap I dan II nanti

Kondisi karut marut yang terjadi pada pemilihan legislatif 9 April 2009 yang lalu hendaknya menjadi suatu pembelajaran bagi Komisi Pemilihan Umum (KPU) untuk memperbaiki sistem database daftar para pemilih tetap agar hak sebagai warga negara untuk memilih atau dipilih dapat dipenuhi sesuai dalam undang-undang.

Pada tanggal 8 Juli 2009 mendatang, akan dilaksanakan pemilihan presiden tahap pertama yang kemudian akan disusul dengan tahap kedua yang akan dijadwalkan pada tanggal 9 September 2009 untuk menentukan calon pemimpin negeri ini. Memilih suatu pemimpin merupakan suatu kewajiban dan hak setiap orang, oleh karena itu jika dalam Pemilu nanti banyak terjadi kasus mengenai warga yang tidak terdaftar sebagai pemilih maka akan sangat mempengaruhi jalannya suatu asas demokrasi pada bangsa kita ini.

Banyak kecurangan-kecurangan dan politik uang diterapkan dalam kasus seperti ini, apalagi event ini merupakan perebutan mengenai pemimpin negara, tentu akan sangat diwarnai intrik-intrik politik. Jangan sampai rakyat kecil kembali menjadi korban akan perebutan kekuasaan. KPU harus benar-benar berbenah dan bekerja sama dengan berbagai pihak untuk mensukseskan jalannya Pemilu nanti.

Data pemilih tetap harus segera dirampungkan dan diperiksa kembali. Banyak kasus yang terjadi seperti di Kampung Makasar, Jakarta Timur banyak pemilih yang tidak masuk dalam daftar pemilih tetap. Kemarin hanya tercatat 21 orang saja yang bisa ikut mencontreng di kelurahan tersebut. Lain halnya dengan warga di Menteng, di TPS 20 malah banyak warga yang terdaftar sebagai pemilih tetap namun justru hampir 50% yang tidak ikut mencontreng pada pemilu 9 April 2009 kemarin.

KPU juga hendaknya memikirkan penetapan tanggal dalam Pemilu karena seperti kasus yang terjadi kemarin, tanggal Pemilu bertepatan dengan sehari menjelang Paskah yang terjadi pada tanggal 10 April 2009. Sehingga banyak Umat Kristiani yang pergi ziarah pada hari Paskah, terutama warga di Indonesia bagian timur.

Antusiasme warga dalam memilih hendaknya menjadi suatu wacana serius oleh KPU untuk memperbaiki kinerja dan sistem yang telah dipakai sebelumnya. Semoga dalam Pemilu nanti tidak terjadi kasus-kasus kecurangan, salah distribusi surat suara maupun hal-hal lain yang tidak diinginkan. Itu semua demi Indonesia Satu. Satu bahasa, satu bangsa, dan satu tanah air (Indonesia)!

Is Indonesia better now?

A long history would changed Indonesia become one of interesting place in the world to visited before you die. Many places out there who untouchable of human because protected by the tribe’s that live inside. Revolution of Indonesia has make peoples dies, but they were heroes for our nation.

We must say thanks to God because our nation (Indonesia) feel likes heaven for more worldlifes. The people are so kind, many culture, religion live together and peaceful. With the true leader on government who make condition more conducive, and human resources are going breaking the bad habit, I think Indonesia will step ahead.

As the youth of the nation, I’ll support union nation. Moreover, I wish I would have many ideas once upon time to make Indonesia better.

Yes we are. They can and it is the time for us to change!

What about EARTH HOUR 2009

EARTH HOUR 2009 was happen on Saturday, 28th March at 8.30-9.00pm, over hour many public activities were turn off more electricity such as light, television and PC to save energy for Global Warming issue. I was switching off about 2-3 lamp and Air Conditioner for support this event.

I went to check around place near my house some like Warnet (Warung Internet) and I proud that what it should do. The Warnet was doing what it should do, it means he was switching off all the light on and did not used Air Conditioner for while.

Grand Indonesia Shopping Town as shopping place that using many electricity, Air Conditioner, and PC, would support EARTH HOUR 2009 campaign. The real act was do like turning off strategically area at façade area, landscape area, brand of Grand Indonesia, brand of Megara BCA, light box in façade area, and many more.

I wish many places around the world save more energy to reduce Global Warming. I have do switch off, what about YOU?

Condom ads could be screened before 9pm watershed

Watchdogs call for radical shakeup of advertising rules to stem rise in teenage pregnancies

The historic ban on condoms being advertised on TV before the 9pm watershed should be scrapped as part of the drive to reduce spiralling teenage pregnancy rates in the UK, it will be recommended tomorrow, as part of a radical shakeup of the rules governing advertising.

Pregnancy advisory services should also be permitted to advertise for the first time on the radio, under proposals resulting from the first major review of national advertising codes for nearly 50 years.

The bodies responsible for looking after the advertising codes will ask the public to give their views on a series of proposed new, simplified advertising standards, after an 18-month review. The codes are written by the Committee of Advertising Practice (CAP) and the Broadcast Committee of Advertising Practice (Bcap).

Also proposed is enhanced protection of children, through a new restriction to prevent adverts for age-restricted computer and console games appearing around TV programmes likely to appeal to youngsters.

But advertising via digital media such as companies' own websites is not included, because it is subject to the outcome of a separate review. And, controversially, the proposals do not also cover the advertising of alcohol, gambling and junk food to children – each the subject of major recent changes.

Significantly, for the first time, TV and radio adverts will be subjected to an overarching "social responsibility" rule, with explicit requirements to prevent advertisers from making exaggerated and misleading environmental claims.

Based on the established principles that advertisements should be legal, decent, honest and truthful, they are independently administered by the Advertising Standards Authority, which investigates and adjudicates on complaints.

Government figures published last month showed the number of teenage pregnancies in England and Wales had risen for the first time in five years. Conception rates among girls rose from 40.9 per 1,000 in 2006 for those aged 15-17 to 41.9 per 1,000 in 2007.

The consultation document states its intention: "To relax the pre-9pm ban on condom advertising in response to evidence from the Independent Advisory Group on Sexual Health and in the light of the UK having the highest teenage pregnancy rate in Europe." However, it suggests that such advertising should be kept away from the youngest viewers.

Post-conception pregnancy advice services are to be permitted to advertise for the first time on radio, but with the requirement to make clear if they do not refer women for abortion. That information is important because, for those women who opt for it, delay in performing an abortion could result in medical complications.

The condom manufacturer Durex said in a statement last night: "We have consistently made the case for the urgent need for responsible pre-watershed condom advertising on television. We believe very strongly that it is essential to be able to get the right safer sex messages across to the right people at the right time, while ensuring adverts are kept away from the youngest viewers."

Andrew Brown, chairman of CAP and Bcap, said: "The UK advertising codes are widely recognised for setting a high bar for social responsibility. Our priority is to ensure that the rules remain relevant for the future so that consumers can continue to enjoy and trust the ads they see."

PUPUK LANGKA PETANI MERANA

Indonesia adalah negara agraris. Tanahnya luas negerinya kaya akan rempah dan hasil tambang, pulaunya banyak dan memiliki beragam suku dan bahasa. Sebagian wilayah di pulau Jawa dan masyarakat yang ada disana mayoritas bekerja di pertanian.

Bulan Desember sekarang ini banyak curah hujan. Musim kemarau telah usai, sekarang musim penghujan telah tiba. Kalau kebiasaan yang terjadi di negara kita, musim ini dimanfaatkan oleh para petani yang umumnya ada di desa untuk menanam jenis padi-padian. Biasanya sebelum musim hujan tiba, para petani sudah mempersiapkan hal-hal tersebut dari mengolah lahan, mempersiapkan irigasi serta bibit padi yang akan ditanam.

Namun sekarang permasalahannya adalah, ketika para petani yang umumnya sudah memasuki masa tanam dan saatnya pemupukan dilakukan ternyata justru pupuk menjadi langka. Inilah peristiwa yang sekarang sedang disorot oleh banyak media, kenapa pada saat petani yang notabene orang susah justru semakin dipersulit oleh kebutuhan mereka yang dalam hal ini yaitu pupuk?

Inilah ironi di negeri kita sendiri. Tidak akan menjadi sesuatu yang besar jika hal-hal yang kecil terabaikan, seharusnya kita bisa menjadi bangsa yang besar dengan memberdayakan masyarakat-masyarakat kecil untuk menjadi besar bukan malahan menambah kesulitan mereka dan menjadikan mereka semakin mengecil.
